Thanks to the hard work and the generosity of many wonderful folks, the girls moved into their new home!

August 23, 2016

Dear Friends,

Thank you for supporting this precious ministry to at-risk and orphaned children!  You are helping provide a safe and healthy home for many girls and boys here in Mexico.  Though they are fatherless, God is their Father.  Psalm 68:5 says, “Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.”

This month, all of our girls moved into their new home.      They had been living in a dormitory that was lovingly built by faithful supporters back in the 80’s, when founder Irene Logsdon was running Rancho 3M.  Even though it has held up all these years with the wear and tear of lively children, our desire was to eventually build something that was more family style and more conducive to discipleship – with its own kitchen, dining area, and living room, just like a home.

My wife and I are amazed how the Lord works out so many circumstances to bless the children of Rancho 3M.  The building that the girls moved into was originally built for one purpose, but after many providential circumstances, it became theirs.  We had one plan, but God had a bigger one.  “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”   Romans 8:28

God has a special place in His heart for the fatherless.  They are defenseless and vulnerable, and they need a provider, a protector and a comforter – all of which our Heavenly Father is to them – and much more.  I believe He puts love and generosity in the hearts of many folks like you to accomplish this – not only for His glory, but also for your joy and blessing!

Thank you for partnering with us to care for children who are precious in God’s sight.  We pray that the Lord will continue to bless you and your family for the kindness and generosity that you have shown us and continue to show!  Thank you!

Alfredo survived Leukemia & came to the Ranch when he was 8. He recently graduated from our Christian primary school at age 13

July 22, 2016

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your recent gift and/or prayers!  Your support is helping us care for at-risk and orphaned children at Rancho 3M, and giving them the privilege of receiving a Christian education at our school, Logsdon Academy (named after the co-founder of Rancho 3M, Irene Logsdon).

We would like you to meet Alfredo.  As a young child, he was diagnosed with Leukemia.  His “father” and mother were avid drug users and mentally unstable.  They did not want him anymore after finding out about his cancer, so they signed custody over to his paternal grandmother (who many not actually be related since no one is sure who his real father is).  His “father” committed suicide a few months later.  Alfredo’s grandmother is poor, and had to beg for money in the streets to put him through the expensive treatments that he needed.

By the grace of God, Alfredo was finally finished with the treatments and became cancer-free.  But after the risk-of-return period was over, his grandmother felt she was no longer able to continue caring for him, and decided to bring him to Rancho 3M when he was eight years old.  He still had his catheter in his chest when he arrived, and continues to get his bone marrow checked periodically.  Alfredo was received with warmth and compassion by our loving Christian staff.  Providentially, staff members, Teo and Lety, recognized him as one of the children who went through chemo with their little son, Jair, who passed away when he was five.

Although the Leukemia has left Alfredo mentally and physically behind his peers, with the Lord’s help, we continue to push him forward in his learning and to help him develop his God-given abilities. One of his favorite pastimes is keeping a beat, so my son Taylor has been patiently teaching him the drums over the years.  Alfredo is now thirteen and is maturing into a kind-hearted young man.  Recently, I had the honor and joy of awarding him with his diploma from our primary school.  He is excited to be entering our middle school this August.

As we look back on where Alfredo has come from, we are just amazed at the Lord’s mercy and kindness  in sparing his life, and in bringing him to the Ranch to learn about receiving eternal life through        Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.  Alfredo and all the other Ranch kids recently learned this verse,     “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6

Please join us in praying that Alfredo will come to trust in the Lord as his Heavenly Father, who will never leave him, nor forsake him.  Thank you for faithfully supporting all of the children here at Rancho 3M!

“Abi” came to Rancho 3M as a toddler. Now she’s in Kindergarten at our Christian school.

June 15, 2016

Dear Friends,

We thank God for you!  The Lord is using the gifts and prayers of big-hearted folks like you to advance His kingdom here at Rancho 3M through the lives of little children.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”  (from Matthew 19:14)

Meet “Abi” (we can’t disclose her real name since she’s under custody of the state).

Her mother abandoned her in their home when she was only a toddler.  The neighbors found her and took her in, but soon she was given to the state and brought to the Rancho 3M Baby Home.  Our all-female staff lovingly took care of Abi as if she were their own daughter.  They fed her nutritious meals, kept her clean, and most importantly they taught her about the Lord Jesus Christ.  Many times when my wife and I would visit the toddlers, they would be singing praise songs or reciting a simple Bible verse with their caretakers. Abi calls each of the female staff “Mama ___ (insert name).”

Then a big change occurred for us – the Mexican government changed their law concerning the type of cases that would be taken, and thus they stopped sending us cases that involved babies and toddlers. Eventually, we only had two toddlers left in the Baby Home.  After much prayer and counsel, we decided to move the two toddlers to the Girls’ Home and to re-purpose the Baby Home.  The Baby Home would become the new Girls’ Home!

Many generous teams and individuals have been working diligently to make necessary changes to the Baby Home to accommodate for the younger and older girls that will be living there.  It is the type of living arrangement we’ve been wanting for the children for a long time.  They will have their own kitchen and dining area, which we hope will make it feel more like a family home.  Lord willing, we would like to be finished by early next month. In the future, we would like to build a home like this for the older boys and one for the younger boys.

But none of this would be happening if it were not for the generous support of caring folks all over the US, like you, working hand in hand with us to move forward in providing better care, living conditions and a solid Christian education for the children of Rancho 3M.  On behalf of all the children and staff – Thank you!

Josefina, Bianca and Angel were brought to us last year as a result of the violence in our area.

April 26, 2016

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your recent gift and/or prayers!  Through your partnership with us, God is providing a safe and joyful Christ-centered home for many at-risk and orphaned children.

Yesterday, my sons were recounting the many miracles the Lord has done here at Rancho 3M.   One huge on-going miracle has been God’s protection since the drug cartels began fighting here in 2009.  For years, our surrounding neighbors were being kidnapped, killed, and houses were being burned down all around us.  Despite this enormous daily danger, not one child, nor staff, nor visitor was harmed in any way!  Psalm 91 speaks of this.

But over the years, we have encountered many people outside of Rancho 3M who have been directly affected by this violence.  About a year ago a woman came to Rancho 3M to drop off her three youngest children.  Tragically, her oldest son had been killed in the drug war.  Her oldest daughter had intimate boy-friends in the mafia, which eventually became a threat to her life, and she had to flee the area.  This unmarried mother was selling corn in the street for a living while her other children were at home alone – and so she feared their lives were in danger.  Also, because of their extreme poverty, the children were often not able to attend school.

At Rancho 3M, these precious children received a safe place to call home and a happy environment where they could grow and learn. Josefina, the oldest of the three, quickly made friends with her out-going personality. She enjoys helping pick the ripe fruit and vegetables in the Rancho 3M garden. Bianca has a sweet disposition, and likes to share. She is smart and does very well in school; she also likes to draw and run. Angel is an active little boy, and since he has been at our Christian school, he has learned how to read well enough to be given his own Bible! God’s Word has the power to transform their lives – as it did mine!

Because of your faithful support, we are able to care for and disciple children like these – who are from at-risk situations and are in need of the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you!!!

Rocio came from an abusive and Mormon background. She is grateful to be safe at Rancho 3M, where she received the truth of the Word of God, and recently put her faith in Jesus Christ.

March 24, 2016

Dear Friends,

Thank you for supporting the at-risk and orphaned children of Rancho 3M! Your gift is helping shine the light of truth in the spiritual darkness here in Mexico.

Meet Rocio. She used to live in poverty with her grandma and her mom, who are Mormons – which is not common here. Her mom had many men in and out of her life, and she was physically abusive to Rocio, so they had a bad relationship. She was brought to the Ranch last year with her younger sister and was quite content to be here where she is safe and well cared for. She also received her own Bible with her name engraved on it. She told us she did not miss her home life.

At that same time, the lady staff started meeting with the older girls twice a week to read and discuss a gospel-based purity book called, Before you meet Prince Charming (in Spanish). The girls were taught about waiting for the right guy (which is a radical concept for the backgrounds these girls come from) and more importantly, getting right with God. They were encouraged to repent of their sins and put their faith in Christ. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Rocio took these words seriously and told my wife and me that she wanted to become a Christian. We went through many passages in the Bible with her and made sure she understood the gospel. Then we prayed with her. She asked for God’s forgiveness for her sins, and by God’s grace, she put her trust in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Rocio is extremely grateful to live at the Ranch – and she is not alone! Rancho 3M is a big family. We consider all of you, who partner with us to care for these precious children, as part of our family too. We are all very grateful for you! Thank you!

Twelve-year-old Jirell came from a rough background. He is thankful to be safe at Rancho 3M, where he received his own Bible, and recently put his faith in Jesus Christ.

February 26, 2016

Dear Friends,

Thank you for partnering with us in the advancement of God’s kingdom in Mexico!  God is powerfully at work here, changing one life at a time in this humble Christ-centered ministry.

Meet Jirell.  He is a sweet and tender-hearted boy, but he comes from a rough background.  His mother was involved in prostitution, had several children from different men, and was put in prison for theft.  Jirell started living with his real dad when she was incarcerated.  He was very abusive to Jirell, and did not put him in school.  He was miserable, and desperately wanted to escape.  One day he was given $1.15 to buy tortillas and he thought, “Now’s my chance.”  After a scary day riding the bus and wandering around Juarez City hungry, he finally located someone he knew.  A few days later, he was brought to Rancho 3M with one of his half-brothers, Jamil.

At first, he was afraid that he would be beaten like the last two places he stayed.  But soon he realized that Rancho 3M is a safe and loving home, and he was extremely grateful to be here. When we gave him a Bible with his name engraved on the front, he was very excited to read it, and he paid close attention in church. Shortly after, Jirell found his true refuge by putting his faith in Jesus Christ!  “God is our refuge and strength,  a very present help in trouble.”  Psalms 46:1

Jirell is attending our Christian school and doing very well academically.  He is intelligent and has much potential to do great things with his life for the Lord.  Recently, he asked my oldest son, Taylor, to teach him how to play the drums. Taylor said Jirell has been a fast learner and would not be surprised to see him playing with the Rancho 3M worship team one day.

Your partnership with Rancho3M is making it possible for at-risk children like Jirell to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior and to glorify Him with their lives.  Thank you!!!
